Melbourne Airport, Flinders Street and CBD shops listed as public exposure sites

Victorian health authorities have added several CBD shops, trains and the airport to the list of potential coronavirus exposure sites.

Health Minister Martin Foley said the three cases had COVID-19 and were deemed to be free of the virus.

He said they were not deemed fresh cases and were not included in Wednesday’s official coronavirus numbers.

“So, in an abundance of caution, both jurisdictions have decided to align their public health advice this morning,” Mr Foley said.

It means several locations have now been added to the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services’ list of potential coronavirus public exposure sites despite almost two weeks of no new cases.

An alert has been issued for Melbourne Airport Terminal 4 for November 10 from 11.45am to 1.20pm where a case left on a flight to Adelaide.

An alert has also been issued for Adelaide Airport.

Other alerts have been issued for the Craigieburn train line inbound between Glenroy and Flinders Street stations on November 8 between 1.45pm and 2.15pm and H&M at 350 Bourke Street, Melbourne between 3pm and 3.50pm on the same day.

The case then shopped at Cotton On Body at 211 La Trobe Street, Melbourne from 3.55pm to 4.40pm and Chemist Warehouse at 220-226 Collins Street, Melbourne between 5pm and 5.15pm.

They then travelled back to Glenroy station on the Craigieburn line from Flinders Street between 6.30pm and 7pm and ate dinner at the Touch of Asia restaurant at 826A Pascoe Vale Road in Glenroy from 7.45pm to 8.15pm.

The health department said the list would be updated as it acquired new information.

Anyone who has visited the locations has been urged to watch for COVID-19 symptoms and get tested immediately if symptoms occur.

It comes after Victoria recorded its 13th straight day of zero new cases on Thursday.

The number of active cases has also fallen to just three, while 20,819 test results were received in the past 24 hours.
